12 fertile acres of land were taken away, then the husband was made to disappear, the son was fired at, and then multiple times beaten up after breaking into their home.
Do you know Jayashree Kushwaha, who has been fighting with Atik Ahmad for 33 years?
Her name is Surjkali Kushwaha, also known as Jayashree. She is 60 years old. Her husband has been missing for over 15 years, which means legally he can be declared dead after 10 years of disappearance. Their son has been shot at, and she herself has been attacked several times, yet for 33 years she has been fighting against the mafia don Atik Ahmad, who was once synonymous with terror in Uttar Pradesh.
Jayashree's husband, Brijmohan Kushwaha, had over 12 acres of land in the Jhalwa area of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where they used to do farming, and support their family. But one day, everything changed suddenly. Her husband disappeared, and Atik took over the land.
Jayashree says that Atik's father, Firoz, had a red tractor with which farmers used to sow and reap their fields, and the same tractor used to run on their land as well. However, after seeing their land, Atik became greedy. Atik's close associate, Lekhpal Manikchand Srivastava, visited Jayashree one day and told her that her land had been registered in the name of Shivkoti Cooperative Housing Society.
In reality, Atik had registered the land in the name of Shivkoti Cooperative Housing Society, which he had created himself. He wanted to take possession of the land, but Jayashree refused to let go. She has been fighting for justice for over three decades now.
According to Jayashree, when her land was seized, Atik Ahmed was the MLA. He had called her to his office several times. The first time she went there, he told her that her husband was special to him but is no more, so now he is responsible for her family. He asked her to give up her land and live in the house. When Jayashree refused, Atik threatened her, saying he would make her disappear like her husband.
According to Jayashree, after this incident, Atik's goons broke into her house several times and beat her up. His goons kept threatening her. However, she always stood up against Atik. She holds Atik responsible for her brother-in-law Prahlad Kushwaha's death from electric shock. According to her, she was attacked seven times in the last 30 years. Atik's goons had threatened her hundreds of times. In 2016, her son and family were attacked in front of their house, and her son was shot but survived.
According to Jayashree, she spent many years going to courts and police stations. However, no action was taken against Atik. In 1991, she was successful in filing the first FIR against Atik. However, in 2001, the case was closed due to lack of evidence. In 2005, Jayashree achieved a major success. Under the Sealing Act, Atik's illegal properties were sealed.
In 2007, there was a change in the politics of the state. After this, an FIR was filed against Atik and the process of action began.
Jayashree's lawyer, KK Mishra, says that a total of 4 cases have been registered in this matter. However, police investigation has not been completed in all cases yet. The police have not filed chargesheets against any other accused apart from Atik and Ashraf. Keeping in mind the safety of Jayashree and her family, the administration has deployed two guards. Although Jayashree's sons had applied for a license for a firearm in 2020, which they have not yet received.
If today's visuals have disturbed you, let me take you down memory lane. Raju Pal had defeated Atiq's man in a by-election. On January 25th, MLA Raju Pal was driving his Toyota with a woman in the car, while 2 Scorpios were following him for some time. Both Scorpios cornered him, and a dozen or more sharpshooters got down and fired hundreds of rounds with 9 MMs and AK47s for minutes. Nineteen bullets pierced Raju Pal's body, and the shooters fled. Atiq was extremely angry after Ashraf lost the election to Raju Pal.
But that's not the worst part. What happened after the shooting is terrifying. Raju Pal's supporters put his dead body in a tempo and drove towards the hospital. When Atiq learned of this, he sent his shooters back. Fifteen shooters returned and repeatedly shot Raju Pal's dead body, even after realizing he was dead. This execution didn't just happen for a few meters, but for a staggering 5 kilometers. Atiq personally instructed the shooters to make a sieve of Raju Pal's dead body, as he dared to contest elections against him.
So, don't fall for the fake outrage now. This was the reign of terror that ended today. Atiq had killed almost hundreds of people, and the body count for both brothers and his gang members runs into the hundreds. Imran Pratapgarhi had called him the messiah of Muslims.
If you are outraged, then sit down. Thank Karma if you believe in justice.
Despite not sympathizing with Atiq and Ashraf, I am deeply saddened by their murders because Atiq was still on the verge of breaking down. Imagine how many and who his companions would be on a journey of four decades and how many politics would boil up. Now the question arises for whom this Takshak had become a burden that it became necessary to deal with him like this.
There should be an investigation from the killers' perspective, and it should be found out where they received so much training from, who provided them with such pistols, and where they practiced shooting. This all demands immediate surrender. Young people who are so agitated cannot be cooled down just like that.
First of all, they must be isolated and kept under tight security because it is certain that all efforts will be made to murder them. Then ask them who had assigned them this task.
And yes, the names they give may be true or may not be true. Wait and watch.
