In Dhanakuta, there was an attempted attack on the President of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), K.P. Sharma Oli. During an event in Bhojpur, an individual tried to physically assault President Oli, who had gone towards Dhanakuta.

In the lineup for welcoming guests, a person tried to physically attack President Oli by attempting to slap him. However, Oli's security personnel and NCP activists immediately intervened and prevented the attack.

Mahesh Rai from Leguwa attempted the assault on Oli. The police have promptly arrested Rai and initiated an investigation.

President Oli is actively participating in the party's Central Hill-centric campaign called "Sankalp Yatra." It was during this campaign that he had a scheduled program in Dhanakuta.
