Japan issued tsunami alerts after a 6.6M earthquake hit Izu Islands.

The first wave of the tsunami, which is expected to be 1 meter high (3.3 feet) and powerful enough to knock people off their feet, is expected to approach the coast of the island between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. local time (between 02:30 and 03:00 GMT).
