INFANTRY DAY
Infantry is a special part of the Indian Armed Forces, which is at the forefront of ground warfare. From the security of the borders of the country, this army has shown courage on different fronts.
October 27 is dedicated to its contributions and glorious history and every year on this day we celebrate Infantry Day. It was the crucial day of 1947 when the Pakistani army and tribals invaded Jammu and Kashmir. On this day, 1st Sikh Infantry Battalion of the Indian Army, landed in Srinagar to liberate the Kashmir Valley from the enemy. Soldiers of a Sikh infantry battalion landed at the Srinagar airbase and then bravely chased the infiltrators out of the valley.
Due to his courageous actions, the valley was liberated from the Pakistani invaders. This brave and glorious history is celebrated every year as Infantry Day.
