For those who aren't aware of this Yojna launched in 2017--Primary objective of PMMVY is to provide financial incentives to compensate for wage loss during pregnancy, enabling women to rest adequately before and after childbirth. In short, to help take care of mental & physical health of Mother & Child, both. Women from Socially & Economically disadvantaged backgrounds receive a maternity benefit of ₹5000, which is now extended to include support for a second girl child, further strengthening the campaign against female feticide & boosting labour force participation. PMMVY has supported more than 3.19 Crore beneficiaries, with a total disbursement exceeding ₹14424.57 Crores. Today, in a significant milestone in the celebration of motherhood and the empowerment, a historic step to further enhance PMMVY is taken by @MinistryWCD under Leadership of Smriti Irani Ji. 🔸User Manual on PMMVY 2.0: A comprehensive guide for beneficiaries. 🔸PMMVY benefits are now extended to support birth of a 2nd Girl Child, with an incentive of ₹6000 in a single instalment. 🔸New PMMVY Portal & Mobile App is launched. This portal incorporates advanced features, including ‘online and face authentication technology’ by UIDAI for beneficiary verification & NPCI verification of beneficiary bank accounts to ensure smooth fund transfers via DBT. 🔸Paperless online registration system launched enabling beneficiaries & Anganwadi/ASHA workers to register directly through the portal. 🔸Today, 8.14+ Lakh beneficiaries have received a total of ₹321.57 Crores through DBT. PMMVY is not just about financial assistance but is also about creating a secure future for our women & children, to lay foundation for a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous Bharat for all.
