Khotang: Prominent identity-based leader #Gopal Kirati, including former ministers, has been arrested. The information was provided by engineer Khukshang Khambu Rai, who was arrested from Halesi in Khotang on Tuesday. Gopal Kirati, the protector of the Kirat Ganrajya Morcha and leader of the Name Change Struggle Committee in Province No. 1, had arrived in Halesi on Monday. He was arrested by the police due to suspicions of carrying dangerous objects in the vicinity and for obstructing the oath-taking ceremony of the Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist), causing concern. Identity-based activists mentioned that Gopal Kirati and others have not discussed the matter with them. They stated that the Identity Special Movement is not targeted at any specific party. Their statement emphasizes the demand for the unconditional release of all detained activists associated with Kirati. According to them, several activists, along with Kirati, have been arrested for their association with the Kirati community. They demand the immediate release of all detained activists. Particularly in Province No. 1, where the name 'Koshi' has been kept, identity-based organizations are continuously monitoring developments and demanding the name change based on identity.
