Jammu and Kashmir celebrated the International Pheran Day, which marks the commencement of Chillai Kalan, the coldest phase of winter in Kashmir.

At the event, a cutout of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was displayed at Srinagar's Ghanta Ghar, dressed in the traditional pheran. People were seen kissing the cutout placed at Ghanta Ghar.
