On West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's statement in the state assembly, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad says, "... It is rather shameful on her part to say this. She has threatened action against the Sandeshkhali victims and dared them to show their faces to the media. I want to ask her, why have you become so ugly, so cruel, and so anti-women... These women are narrating their horrors themselves in front of the Governor, in front of the world, and she says things like 'Sandeshkali is the burner of RSS'... Had these words come out of the mouth of a BJP leader, it would have taken the country by storm- be it Rahul Gandhi, be it leftists, the CPM, the CPI, or the human rights organisations. Now all of them are quiet. These are called shameful double standards."
