The Assam Police has detained Tauseef Ali Farooqui, a final-year biotechnology student at IIT-Guwahati, for allegedly pledging allegiance to the ISIS. Tracked down by the Special Task Force (STF) to Hajo in Assam, Farooqui expressed his desire to join the ISIS through social media posts. Authorities recovered items, including a suspected ISIS flag, from Farooqui's hostel. He is currently being interrogated, with forensic examination underway.
