Modi Government notifies plan to delist 18 centrally protected monuments as they have “ceased to be of national importance”
For Example, A Mughal Kos Minar at the Zoo in New Delhi will be delisted.
The list includes monuments from across states. Another, Historic decision of Modi Govt
The government has evoked Section 35 of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958 (AMASR Act). Once the centrally protected monuments are delisted, the ASI and Ministry of Culture will no longer be responsible for their preservation, safeguard, and conservation.
Many of these, including Kos Minars of Shahabad and Mujessar in Haryana, the Bara Khamba cemetery in Delhi, and multiple cemeteries and tombs in Uttar Pradesh now find themselves among monuments notified to be delisted (The Hindu 08 Apr 24).
No more spending of tax payers money to conserve cemetries and tombs of fourth and fifth wives of Mughals.
This will pave way for Hindus to reclaim their historic site and in few years Taj Mahal will come out of list
