Kathmandu, June 21 — On the occasion of the tenth International Yoga Day, a yoga song was released today through the initiative of Bishal Milan Scientific Yoga. The song titled
“Nachau Nachau Bho
Jiwan Hasau Hasau Bho
Phul Jastai Chokho Jiwan
Bachoun Bachoun Bho”
was unveiled by the chief guest, Mr. Hari Prasad Adhikari, President of Bishal Milan Kendra, during a ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Adhikari emphasized the significant role of music in yoga and stressed the importance of creating songs for meditation. Similarly, former president of Bishal Milan Kendra and former ward chairman of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 4, Mr. Achyut Sapkota, highlighted the unique identity of the center in the ward and its crucial role in yoga and meditation.
Dr. Deepak Sharma, a yoga instructor and advisor at Bishal Milan Kendra, mentioned that the center, established in 1986 (2043 B.S.), has been regularly conducting yoga and meditation since 2001 (2058 B.S.). He also noted that the center has introduced this song to strengthen yoga through music.
Dr. Vignan Bhikshu, the lyricist of the song, shared his experience of creating it. The music for the song was composed by Uttam Acharya, with vocals by Uttam Acharya, Kishore Sedhai, and singers Bandana Thapa and Sonu Gurung. The musical arrangement was done by Bikram Karki.
During the Yoga Day program, yoga practitioners Ramila Thapa and Umesh Sitaula demonstrated various yoga poses, while practitioners Menuka Acharya, Bhawana Pandey, and Jharana Singh shared their thoughts on yoga.
The proposal to celebrate Yoga Day was passed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014, and International Yoga Day has been observed annually on June 21 since 2015. The proposal was presented by India, with Nepal’s then-Prime Minister Sushil Koirala supporting it on behalf of Nepal.
