On April 29th, in Kathmandu, the Local Employees' Union of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City organized a program at the beautiful natural site of Godavari, which falls under the Godavari Municipality of Lalitpur, to celebrate the Nepali New Year 2080 and host a grand banquet.
Starting from the National Assembly Hall in Kathmandu at 8 a.m., the metropolitan city employees traveled in a bus to the banquet venue and arrived by 9 a.m. All the employees gathered at the banquet site and the program began with various musical and dance performances.
During the program, the presenter and artist Prakash Upadhyay presented three popular Hindi songs, Nepali songs, and Newari songs from the establishment of Metro FM until now, which added more excitement to the program.
After an interesting presentation, the program started under the leadership of Shambhu Baral, the president of the local government employees' union. The former Minister of Health and Population and NCP Marxist leader, Padma Giri, expressed a commitment to unity and solidarity with the suffering and happiness of local government employees' rights in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. During the program, the president of the Federation of Nepal, Punya Prasad Dhakal, spoke against the law coming from the province against the rights of local government employees. Additionally, the local government employees pledged their commitment to the welfare of the metropolitan unit employees, expressing their sorrow and joy.
Furthermore, in the program, Sunita Dangol, Deputy Chief of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, expressed her well-wishes, commenting on the need for mutual discussion and responsibility in resolving the problems of the working staff of the municipality. In conclusion, the local government employees' union expressed gratitude to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City unit for organizing this program, and Bhoj Pokharel, the official trade union president of the administrative staff, and Hari Kumar Shrestha, the central president of the local government employees' union, wished for the continued progress of the local government employees' union.
